STEROIDS IN MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
Major League Baseball players will face tougher penalties for steroid use next season under an agreement between owners and the union. The agreement was reached Tuesday after months of negotiations and pressure from Congress. Larry talks to Tom Verducci of Sports Illustrated.
CALIFORNIA CONGRESSMAN PROPOSES FEDERAL LAND SELL-OFF
A provision placed on a House budget bill by California Congressman Richard Pombo would force the sale of hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of acres of federal land to mining companies at a low cost. Wilderness in the Sierra Nevadas and the Mojave desert would be affected. The house may vote on the bill this week.
