Checking in at the Polls
Larry checks in with the KPCC news staff from various polling places around the Southland.
Tejon Ranch Development Challenged by Environmentalists
Larry Mantle and guests discuss the stalling of the Tejon Ranch Development. Talks have broken down between the Tejon Ranch Company and environmentalist organizations seeking more land to be set aside for a preserve. Can an agreement be reached? Larry talks with both sides of the debate.
Overfishing
According to a recent study published in the journal, Science, the world's fishing stocks will collapse before mid-century if over-fishing and other human impacts continue at their current pace. Larry talks with two of the scientists who were part of the international team of marine biologists and economists whose research is included in the study and a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientist who is skeptical about the claims of the study.
Green to Gold
In this new book, Green to Gold, two experts from Yale describe how going green can benefit not only a company’s image, but its profits. Larry talks with the book's co-author, Andrew Winston, about how companies can generate lasting value, cut costs, reduce risk, increase revenues, and create strong brands, by building environmental thinking into their business strategies.
