Santa Monica Living Wage Measure JJ

Host Larry Mantle discusses this measure that would require employers of businesses in Santa Monica’s coastal zone, grossing more than $5 million, to pay workers $10.50 an hour with health benefits or $12.50 an hour without. The Santa Monica City Council already passed the ordinance last year but a coalition of hotel owners succeeded in getting the issue on the ballot. Larry talks on the pro side with Vivian Rothstein, Director of the Santa Monicans Allied for Responsible Parenting, and Tom Larmore, Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, who is against it.
