Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announces his final budget plan today. Yesterday, the governor announced a deal that would save the state $2.5 billion, and cost the cities, counties and local districts $1.3 billion in lost revenues. However, the lost revenue would start to be returned in fiscal year 2006-2007. Larry speaks with Alex Padilla, President of the Los Angeles City Council and 2nd VP of the California League of Cities, David Janssen, Chief Administrative Officer for the County of Los Angeles, Jean Ross, Executive Director of the California Budget Project and Dr. Elisa Nicholas, Executive Director of the Children’s Clinic, serving children and their families, located in Long Beach.
