Larry talks with Lucy Kelly, Executive Director of the Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce, Jack Kyser, Chief Economist, Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, and Kuan Yu Chao, radio host for "Rush Hour" on AM 1300, about the affect of SARS on the local Asian business community. Travel agencies and the Chamber of Commerce in Monterey Park have been hard hit by the SARS scare, and small businesses in Chinatown have also deeply been affected.

Los Angeles City Election Candidate Interviews

On May 20th the City of Los Angeles will hold elections for seats on the LA City Council and for an open seat on the Los Angeles Unified School District Board. Larry will speak with Julie Korenstein, LAUSD board member running for the 12th District council seat against Greig Smith, who declined to join "AirTalk" for this discussion, and Nellie Rios-Parra, a teacher running for LAUSD board.

One of Hollywood's living legends, Carl Reiner, joins Larry Mantle to talk about his new memoir called My Anecdotal Life (St. Martin's Press). Reiner created and co-starred in the classic Dick Van Dyke Show, and then went on to act in, direct, produce or write, numerous films, television series, plays and books. He has also received twelve Emmy Awards, a Grammy award, and has been inducted in the Television Academy Hall of Fame.
