Iraq Update

AirTalk for May 13, 2003

Larry Mantle talks with Michael Weisskopf, Senior Correspondent at Time magazine, stationed in Baghdad, and Jim Phillips, Senior Research Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, about the latest military, political, and logistical challenges facing Iraqis and the American military leadership in Iraq. In the second portion of the hour, Larry discusses what is happening vis a vis Iraq's oil wells with Jim Steele, Editor-At-Large for Time, Inc. and Dr. Ariel Cohen, Fellow for Central Asian Affairs at the Heritage Foundation. Only 17 out of 80 oil wells have been developed thus far. Experts speculate that once they are all up and running, Iraq could be the number one oil producer in the world.

AirTalk for May 13, 2003

Larry Mantle talks with Ann Hulbert, author of the critically acclaimed new book Raising America: Experts, Parents and a Century of Advice About Children, (Knopf) a fascinating history of parenting advice given to Americans in the 20th century. Larry also talks with Sociologist Frank Furedi, who believes current parenting advice is more plentiful, and more useless, than ever.
