Supreme Court oral arguments and analysis of CA's Prop 8 hearing

After a long wait on both sides of the issue, California’s Prop 8 finally gets heard at the Supreme Court. During the first hour of our program, we’ll broadcast the recorded audio of oral arguments heard earlier today at the Supreme Court. After that, our team of experts will discuss and analyze what was said at the hearing.

Questions abound about how Chief Justice John Roberts will rule, as he is mostly a blank slate in this area. Present at the hearing will be Roberts’s cousin, one of the Chief Justice’s official guests, who is gay and wants to marry her partner. Does his invitation mean anything, or is he simply trying to keep the family happy? It was Roberts who surprised most analysts when he ruled in favor of the Affordable Care Act last year. Will he provide another surprise?

What can we tell from the oral arguments and the Justices’ questions?
