The War in Iraq

AirTalk for March 21, 2003

The Pentagon began the "shock and awe" phase of the war in Iraq today. What does it hope to gain with this tactic, and how will the rest of the war be prosecuted? Larry Mantle speaks with a variety of guests about the war in Iraq and its impact on the precarious political situation throughout the Middle East. Plus we'll hear from listeners about their reactions to the invasion of Iraq by American armed forces. Joining Larry are Michael O'Hanlon, Senior Fellow, Foreign Policy Studies and the Sydney Stein, Jr. Chair, at the Brookings Institution; Mark Thompson, Washington correspondent for Time magazine; Johanna McGeary, senior foreign correspondent at Time magazine, and Larry Goodson, Ph.D., Director of Middle East Studies at the US Army War College in the Department of National Security and Strategy.
