California's Same-Sex Marriage Ban Ruled Unconstitutional
A Judge in San Francisco’s Superior Court ruled Monday (March 14th) that “no rational purpose exists for limiting marriage in this state to opposite-sex partners.” The decision will be appealed by groups who are opposed to the ruling. But, if the appeal stands, California may follow Massachusetts in letting same-sex couples marry. Joining Larry Mantle to share their perspectives on the ruling are Shannon Minter, legal director for the National Center for Lesbian Rights, who will continue to be the lead attorney on the case as it goes to appeal, and Benjamin Lopez, legislative analyst and lobbyist for the Traditional Values Coalition in California.

Larry Mantle speaks with Michael J. Garcia, Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, about the arrest of 103 gang members of the notorious MS-13 gang. Operation Community Shield targets MS-13 specifically, with a view to arrest and deport them from America. Seventeen MS-13 gang members have been arrested in Los Angeles, including a founding member of the gang branch in Hollywood.
