Orange County News
Larry Mantle talks with a panel of Orange County journalists about the latest news events and developments in Orange County. Joining him is Chris Reed, Orange County Register op-ed column editor, Jean Pasco, Los Angeles Times staff writer and Scott Moxley, News and Investigations Editor for the OC Weekly.
Creating Middle Class Schools Through Public School Choice
Larry Mantle talks with author and senior fellow at The Century Foundation Richard Kahlenberg about his new book All Together Now: Creating Middle-Class Schools Through Public Choice (Century Foundation Press). Kahlenberg asks the question: since we know that middle class schools work well, why not give every child in America the opportunity to attend a public school in which the majority of students come from middle class households? Kahlenberg argues that economically integrated schools will do more to promote achievement and equal opportunity than other educational proposals.
Charlie Kaufman
Screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, the brains behind “Adaptation” and “Being John Malkovich,” joins Larry Mantle for a rare interview to discuss his upcoming film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” The film opens next week Friday, March 19th, and stars Jim Carrey, Kate Winslett, Kirsten Dunst and Elijah Wood.
