Larry Mantle talks with author and senior fellow at The Century Foundation Richard Kahlenberg about his new book All Together Now: Creating Middle-Class Schools Through Public Choice (Century Foundation Press). Kahlenberg asks the question: since we know that middle class schools work well, why not give every child in America the opportunity to attend a public school in which the majority of students come from middle class households? Kahlenberg argues that economically integrated schools will do more to promote achievement and equal opportunity than other educational proposals.
