The Future of Runyon Canyon Park; The Tragedy at Mountain Meadows; Gina Kolata's new book Ultimate Fitness
The Future of Runyon Canyon Park
Runyon Canyon Park in the Hollywood Hills has a rich history. It's most recent incarnation is as a 90 acre, off-leash dog park. Well that may change, if a new city plan goes into effect. AirTalk Guest Host Patt Morrison talks Hollywood residents who enjoy the park, but have very different ideas about its future. Bob Eicholz, a resident of the Outpost Estates area of Hollywood Hills, gives listeners an overview of the debate. Jess Winnfield, a resident of Vista St., would like to see the Park off-leash area reduced. Conversely, Liz Barris, a resident of North Hollywood, would like to keep the off-leash area of the Park at 90 acres. All three guests are members of the Runyon Canyon Park Advisory Board.
The Tragedy at Mountain Meadows
Guest host Patt Morrison talks with author and investigative journalist Sally Denton about her new book American Massacre: The Tragedy at Mountain Meadows, September 11, 1857 (Knopf). In the book, Denton chronicles the massacre of 140 men, women and children by Mormon militia. What was the motive, and who may have been behind it?
Gina Kolata's new book Ultimate Fitness
