Los Angeles can breathe a collective sigh today after the Lakers beat the Boston Celtics 83-79 in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Coming from behind in the fourth quarter, the Lakers slugged it out against Boston defensively for the narrow win. What did you think of the refs? When did you shout—and when did you groan? Food trucks gear up for fight with LA City Council
Heralded by many, the explosion of gourmet food trucks over the past year selling everything from grilled cheese to sushi has taken the late-night taco to a whole new level. But critics say that the trucks ignore parking and zoning regulations, steal business from brick and mortar eateries, and draw crowds that leave trash in their wake. Now, Los Angeles Councilman Tom LaBonge has introduced two motions to limit how the trucks operate. One calls for restricting food trucks from parking in meters in commercially zoned areas. The other would create specially designated zones for catering trucks. Should the city enact new rules to regulate food trucks? Or, viva la street food revolución?

HBO documentary reveals ‘Dr. Death’ Jack Kevorkian
Two decades after becoming one of America’s most polarizing figures, the man known for his participation in at least 130 assisted suicides returns to the limelight with a new HBO documentary. “Kevorkian,” directed by Matthew Galkin, provides an intimate look at Dr. Kevorkian’s controversial crusade for “death with dignity.” Despite having served more than eight years in prison, Kevorkian today insists that he has no regrets. Larry talks with Kevorkian about his complex life, career and the new doc, which airs on HBO June 28th.
