Funding Reduction For Public Radio

On Thursday, a House Appropriations Committee voted to reduce federal funding for public broadcasting and also acted to eliminate within two years all money for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting which passes federal funds to public broadcasters, starting with a 25% reduction on CPB’s budget for next year from $400 million to $300 million. These cuts represent the most drastic reduction in funding for public broadcasting since Congress created the CPB in 1967. Larry talks with John Lawson, President of the Association of Public Television Stations, and Bill Davis, President and CEO of SCPR/ KPCC.
