XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio have finalized their merger and the new company plans to change its name to Sirius XM Radio Inc. Larry Mantle talks with Jon Friedman, media columnist for "Market Watch," about the deal.

Propositon 8 Language Disputed

Supporters of a ballot measure that would ban gay marriage want to amend the state Constitution to say "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.'' But last week, Brown's office changed Proposition 8's ballot title and summary to say the measure seeks to ``eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry.'' Project Marriage coalition spokeswoman Jennifer Kerns called the new language inherently argumentative, and said it would prejudice voters against the initiative. Her group intends to file a lawsuit to get the language changed back on Monday. Larry Mantle talks with "No on Prop 8" campaign manager Dale Kelly-Bankhead about the issue.

Breaking News: Earthquake Rocks Southern California

About twelve minutes into "Stuff White People Like," a strong earthquake interrupted the discussion with author Christian Lander. Despite a large speaker swinging overhead, Larry continued to broadcast, immediately talking with KPCC's reporters, earthquake experts, and listeners across the region. The magnitude 5.4 quake, felt from Los Angeles to San Diego, was centered in the city of Chino Hills, in San Bernardino County.
