The Bush administration recently approved the use of sonar by the Navy to search for ultra-quiet submarines. The decision has angered many environmentalists who argue the use of sonar technology is life-threatening to whales. Larry Mantle speaks with Deputy Director of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Dr. John Heyning; NRDC Senior Attorney, Joel Reynolds; and, Director of the Bioacoustics Research Program at Cornell University, Dr. Chris Clark.
