New Bush Administration Forest Rules
Larry Mantle talks with Jack Blackwell, Pacific-Southwest Regional Forester of the U.S. Forest Service, and Jay Watson, Director of the Wilderness Society's Wildlands Fire Program about the new proposed Bush administration forest rules.
Muslim-Americans Respond To Terrorism
On Sunday, here in Los Angeles, Muslim American leaders began a nation-wide campaign of town-hall meetings for Muslim Americans. The forums are designed to create a dialogue within Muslim American communities across the United States--to educate Muslims that Islam provides no place for terrorist activity, as stated in the Qur'an, and to create a sense of accountability at mosques around the nation. The meetings also kick off a partnership between law enforcement and Muslim Americans, with representatives from the FBI offering advice on how to spot potential terrorists. Joining Host Larry Mantle is Dr. Maher Hathout, senior advisor of MPAC, and Matt McLaughlin, supervisory special agent with the Office of Public and Congressional Affairs in the Los Angeles division of the FBI.
Improving Your Memory
Larry Mantle talks with Dr. Gary Small, Director of the UCLA's Memory Clinic. Dr. Small has found through his research that memory exercises, physical activity, stress reduction, and diet changes can cause significant improvements in brain function even after a brief period of time. He is co-author of the book The Memory Prescription.
