Over the past 18 years, Grand Performances has presented free concerts and performing arts spectacles on the stages of California Plaza in downtown Los Angeles. More than 40 noon and evening events draw over 65,000 people throughout the summer who experience the best in global culture through an eclectic mix of performing arts disciplines. Larry Mantle speaks with the executive director Michael Alexander and the programming director of the series Leigh Ann Hahn who see Grand Performances as a prototype for the future of performing arts presentations.
