Bombing in London; Cooper-Miller Games; Crystal Meth: Enforcement and Policy
Bombing in London
You’ve been hearing about it all morning here on NPR and KPCC. In London’s worst attack since World War 2, some 40 people have died and around 400 wounded. Three explosions in London’s underground and a bomb on a packed double decker bus – a group called the Secret Organization of al Qaeda in Europe is claiming responsibility. Today on Airtalk, as the U.S. increases to the “orange” terror level, we’ll hear from LA County Sheriff Lee Baca, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, MTA CEO Roger Snobel and Marketplace’s London bureau chief Stephen Beard.
Cooper-Miller Games
Matt Cooper will testify – Judith Miller will warm a jail cell. Wednesday’s big developments in the Valerie Plame leak investigation by a federal grand jury sent shockwaves through the journalism business. Larry Mantle talks about the long-term implications with lawyer and journalist Douglas McCollam, timeswatch.org director Clay Waters and Daniel Ellsberg of Pentagon Papers fame.
Crystal Meth: Enforcement and Policy
In part one of our discussion on crystal meth we talked about the nature of the drug and the damage it does to the body. Today host Larry Mantle talks to law enforcement and policy makers about what it takes to get this drug out of circulation.
