Head of LA County Dept Of Health: The Latest On Coronavirus
More than 2,700 cases of a new viral respiratory illness have been confirmed since an outbreak began last month in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
Scientists have identified the illness as a new kind of coronavirus. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses, some of which cause the common cold. Others have evolved into more severe illnesses, such as SARS and MERS, although so far the new virus does not appear to be as deadly or contagious.
Two cases of Coronavirus were confirmed in Southern California. We check in on the latest.

A Look At Trump’s Middle East Peace Plan
President Donald Trump unveiled his long-awaited Mideast peace plan Tuesday alongside a beaming Benjamin Netanyahu, presenting a vision that matched the Israeli leader’s hard-line, nationalist views while falling far short of Palestinian ambitions.
Trump’s plan envisions a disjointed Palestinian state that turns over key parts of the West Bank to Israel. It sides with Israel on key contentious issues that have bedeviled past peace efforts, including borders and the status of Jerusalem and Jewish settlements, and attaches nearly impossible conditions for granting the Palestinians their hoped-for state. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed the plan as “nonsense” and vowed to resist it. Netanyahu called it a “historic breakthrough” equal in significance to the country's declaration of independence in 1948. Given the Palestinian opposition, the plan seems unlikely to lead to any significant breakthrough. But it could give a powerful boost to both Trump and Netanyahu who are both facing legal problems ahead of tough elections. Thousands of Palestinians protested in Gaza City ahead of the announcement, burning pictures of Trump and Netanyahu and raising a banner reading “Palestine is not for sale.”
Today on AirTalk, we lay out the plan and discuss what it could mean for the Middle East and U.S. relations.

Firefighters Battle Wilshire Boulevard Residential Building Fire
A fire broke out shortly after 8:30 a.m. at a Westside residential building this morning.
City firefighters evacuated residents from the rooftop and inside the building, a luxury apartment complex called Barrington Plaza. Eight individuals have reportedly been injured. One person is in critical condition. No fatalities have been reported. Firefighters fully contained the fire around 10 a.m. Arson investigators were at the scene, and the fire was deemed "suspicious."
In 2013 a fire erupted on the 11th floor of the building, which did not have a sprinkler system installed. It is unknown whether the affected floors have sprinklers installed.
