Former Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Arthur Levitt
tenure, he worked tirelessly to protect investors from the sophisticated business climate on Wall Street. Levitt promoted the use of plain language in investor literature, and he fought Internet fraud and cleaned up the municipal bond market. His new book, Take on the Street: What Wall Street and Corporate America Don't Want You to Know, What You Can Do About It (Pantheon) both advises and cautions investors. He discusses conflicts of interest, 401 K investments, outlines "seven deadly sins" of mutual funds and much more. Arthur Levitt joins host Larry Mantle to share his knowledge of Wall Street.
Aging And Genes
Larry Mantle talks with MIT scientist Lenny Guarente about his new book, Ageless Quest: One Scientist's Search For Genes That Prolong Youth (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press). It explores the possibility that there might be a remedy to aging, a genetic "fountain of youth," using a gene that has now been found to slow the aging process and promote survival in animals.
