Larry Mantle and critics Henry Sheehan of HenrySheehan.com, and Ella Taylor of the L.A. Weekly discuss this week's new film releases, including Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer, Dog Days, and The Battle of Algiers.

As well as revealing their picks for the best films of 2003, Henry and Ella also comment on the choices of the L.A. Film Critics Assocation and the National Society of Film Critics.

State Budget Revealed

KPCC will carry live coverage of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's presentation of the long awaited 2004/ 2005 budget for the State of California. Following the Governor, Donna Arduin, the state finance director will elaborate on the budget proposal and take questions regarding budget cuts in a variety of state funded programs, services and agencies. At the conclusion of the press conference Larry will talk about the budget with Sacramento Bee columnist Dan Weintraub and Political Science Professor Raphael Sonenshein.
