Philip Howard, the chair of Common Good, a legal reform coalition, says that America is paralyzed by a fear of lawsuits. From emergency room physicians to preachers to Little League coaches, we are acutely aware of frivolous lawsuits. What is the effect of so much litigation on society? The December 8th issue of Newsweek published an article titled "Lawsuit Hell: How Fear of Litigation is Paralyzing Our Professions." Also joining Larry to talk about tort reform is Tony Stuart, consumer attorney who represents victims of negligence in civil cases, and President of the Consumer Attorney's Association of Los Angeles.
