In her review of the state budget, Legislative Analyst Elizabeth Hill suggested that lawmakers add a six cent tax increase to the gasoline tax, in addition to rejecting Governor Schwarzenegger's proposed $2 billion cut to the transportation budget. He also discusses how the American university has the dual and sometimes conflicting role of expanding the mind and of the individual while at the same time stimulating economic growth.
