We will spend the full hour talking about the contaminants in our drinking water with Gina Solomon, Senior Scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco, Mark Beuhler, Associate Vice President of Metropolitan Water District, and Bruce Macler, National Microbial Risk Assessment Expert and Drinking Water Toxicologist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

New Legislation (AB83 and SB 50) is being introduced in California that would subject bottled water to the same rules applied to tap water. Bottlers would need to undergo annual inspections by the Department of Health Services, and would have to place a label on the bottle reporting what is in it. Larry Mantle discusses the issue of drinking bottled water vs. drinking tap water with Adrianna Quintero , Attorney with the NRDC, and Stephen Kay , Vice President for Communications for the International Bottled Water Association. What are the different types of bottled water? Which types are healthier? What are the differences in regulation of both bottled and tap waters?
