Larry and his guests (Jim Hayes, L.A. Los Angeles River Master Plan
Larry and guests (Ed Reyes, Los Angeles City Councilman; Gary Moore, City Engineer for the City of Los Angeles; and Shelly Backlar, Executive Director, Friends of the Los Angeles River) discuss the "greening" multi-use future of the Los Angeles River ecosystem.
Lt. Watada and the War in Iraq
It's one thing for a civilian to criticize the war in Iraq, but what if you're a US army officer? And what if that officer disobeys orders to serve? Lt. Ehren Watada is on trial for refusing to deploy to Iraq. He argues that the war was based on misinformation and lies; calling it illegal. Larry talks to legal scholars (Ronald Meister, a partner with Cowan, Liebowitz and Latman and Denis Halliday, former head of the UN "Oil for Food Program") about what a soldier can do if he or she believes a war is illegal or unjustified?
