Should the Army punish pregnancy?

An Army commander in Iraq has issued an order restricting soldiers' behavior, including gambling, photographing detainees and… getting pregnant? Major General Tony Cuculo has stated that although he would not subject soldiers found pregnant or their partners to court martial proceedings, the parents-to-be could still be reprimanded. Does the Army have the right to punish conception? And, will the policy deter women from joining the military?

Guest:

David M. Brahms, retired Brigadier General, United States Marine Corps, currently an attorney

Genevieve Chase, Founder and Executive Director of American Women Veterans
