AirTalk for December 22, 2006

Yesterday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dzintra Janavs struck down a law granting Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa partial control of the LAUSD, ruling it violated the state constitution and the city charter. According to the judge, the law, scheduled to take effect January 1, would interfere with the governing authority of the locally elected board, and would put Villaraigosa in a conflicting management role. Mayor Villaraigosa says he'll appeal the ruling. Larry and his guests discuss what the ruling could mean for the future of the LAUSD.
