Officials at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art announced Wednesday that they have approved a proposal by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas to demolish most of the buildings at the Mid-Wilshire site and replace them a vast structure that sits on stilts and is covered by a tent like roof. Larry Mantle speaks with the senior vice president of LACMA, Melody Kanchat.
