The US government is expected to spend over $400 billion more than it levies in taxes this year. Starting earlier in the year, the dollar began to fall, tumbling to a record low of $1.3335 per euro in early European trade today. Larry speaks with Peter Coy, Economic Editor for Business Week and Zanny Minton-Beddoes Economic Correspondent for The Economist based in Los Angeles, about why this is happening and what it means for American trade and our long-term economy.
Kweisi Mfume Steps Down as Head of the NAACP
Kweisi Mfume stepped down yesterday as the head of the NAACP. He leaves an organization whose membership is stagnant and whose tax status is under review by the IRS.
