The military tribunals at Guantanamo Bay naval base finished their first week last week. Observers report that the trials have thus far been characterized by confusion. Guests Viveca Novak, Washington correspondent for Time magazine who has been covering the Guantanamo trials, and Douglas McNabb, federal criminal defense attorney and Senior Principal with McNabb Associates with offices in Washington, D.C. and Houston, TX join host Larry Mantle to discuss the how the military tribunals are proceeding, as well as concerns raised by the very nature of military tribunals.

More Californians Are In Poverty And Lack Health Insurance

New data from the US Census Bureau shows that the number of Californians in poverty has gone up, and that the number of Californians with health insurance has gone down. Larry Mantle talks with economists Chris Thornberg, Senior Economist for UCLA’s Anderson Forecast and Kenneth Chay, PeeVey-Vial Associate Professor of Economics at UC Berkeley who hold different opinions on what the data means.
