In Trafik, Cu L8tr
A bill that passed the State Senate yesterday would ban people from texting while driving. Under the measure, people wouldn't be able to read, write, or send text messages while behind the wheel. The Senate voted 25 to 14 in favor of the bill. Opponents wonder why the Senate has to legislate something that is common sense. In response, Senator Joe Simitian who wrote the bill (SB 28) says, "Regrettably, common sense isn't always that common." Guest host David Lazarus talks with Officer Tony Garrett from the CHP about the dangers of texting while driving and takes listener calls.
