Mustang: The Horse And The Forging Of America

AirTalk for August 18, 2008

In 2007, writer Deanne Stillman told Newsweek that "horses carried our mail, blazed our trails, and carried us into war. They deserve a better end than slaughter." She was talking about a US Government plan to euthanize thousands of wild horses. In her new book, "Mustang, the Saga of the Wild Horse in the American West," Stillman elaborates on her argument. She tells the story of the American wild horse and the role its forbearers played in American history. For more information on wild horses go to deannestillman.com
