SPECIAL BROADCAST FROM LAGUNA BEACH

AirTalk for August 5, 2005

On June 1, 2005, a landslide hit the Laguna Beach community of Bluebird Canyon damaging or destroying over two dozen homes and causing millions of dollars in damage to the city’s infrastructure. In the first half hour Larry talks with a panel of experts about where the money should come from to repair the cliff, restore drainage, build roads, and grade slopes to get them ready for rebuilding. In the second half hour Larry Mantle focuses on tourism and quality of life. Laguna is dependent on tourism for its financial well being but tourism is the proverbial double edged sword. Larry and his guests discuss how the crowds, lack of parking, trash, and damage to the environment affect life for Laguna Beach residents?
