The US Commission on Ocean Policy just released a 450-page report on the state of America’s oceans, the first such report of our oceans in over three decades. What does the report recommend, and how will it help our oceans? Joining Host Larry Mantle to discuss the report is Frank Muller-Karger, a member of the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy, and a professor of Biological Oceanography in the College of Marine Science at the University of South Florida; Wayne Gilchrest, Congressman from Maryland, serving Maryland’s 1st Congressional District and Chairman of the House Sub-Committee on Fisheries, Conservation, Wildlife and Oceans; Rod Moore, Executive Director of The West Coast Seafood Processors Association; Dan Waldeck, Pacific Fishery Management Council staff officer, and Mary Nichols, a California Coastal Commissioner and Director of UCLA’s Institute of the Environment.

Steve Springer is co-author, with Chick Hearn, of Hearn’s posthumous memoir, Chick: His Unpublished Memoirs and the Memories of Those Who Knew Him (Triumph Books).
