Bob Woodward’s Book, Plan Of Attack

AirTalk for April 20, 2004

Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward released a new book yesterday called Plan of Attack. It details the steps and the atmosphere within the Bush Administration during the months leading up to the start of the war in Iraq last year. Woodward calls into question CIA Director Tenet’s assertion that it would be a “slam dunk” to find WMD in Iraq. Based upon interviews with over seventy-five people close to the story, including the President himself, Woodward contends that the Bush Administration was creating war plans to invade Iraq very early in its tenure. Experts Abraham Sofaer, the George P. Shultz Distinguished Scholar and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford, and Joseph Cirincione, Senior Associate and Director for Non-Proliferation at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, D.C. join Larry Mantle to discuss Bob Woodward’s allegations.
