US troops toppled Saddam Hussein’s statue a year ago today, symbolizing the end of his Baathist regime. Hussein went into hiding, and the Coalition Authority began to rebuild Iraq, under the leadership of L. Paul Bremer. Experts John Daniszewski, London Bureau Chief for the LA Times, Hal Kempfer, a military analyst for ABC 7 News and a Reserve Marine Lt. Colonel who just returned from Iraq, Imam Ali Al Qazwini, an active Iraqi American in Southern California, and Frank Stoltze, KPCC reporter covering the press conference at the Ahlul Bayt Mosque in Pomona join Host Larry Mantle to discuss the developments in Iraq over the past year--economically, politically and socially, as well as the latest violent developments in several cities.
