Should Pharmacists Be Forced To Fill All Prescriptions?
Two bills will be soon considered by California lawmakers. Both would hold pharmacists accountable if they refuse to dispense the morning-after pill and other prescriptions. AirTalk guest host Jon Beaupre talks with Assemblyman Lloyd Levine of Van Nuys about his bill, AB 21 and with Bill Bradley, Official spokesman for the California Pharmacist Association.
Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program
The Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program is part of an effort by California, Arizona, Nevada, Indian tribes and the federal government to protect endangered species over the next fifty years. Jeff Kightlinger, General Counsel of the MWD of Southern California, joins guest host Jon Beaupre to explain what the MSCP is, and how it will be implemented. Also joining the conversation is Jennifer Pitt, senior policy analyst with Environmental Defense, to critique both the merits and the shortcomings of the MSCP.
Interest-Only Loans
A growing number of Californians are taking out adjustable, interest-only loans to buy homes. There is growing concern among economists that as interest rates rise and principles come due, a rash of foreclosures may ensue. AirTalk guest host John Beaupre talks with experts Michael Bazdarich, Senior Economist with the UCLA Anderson Forecast, and Kathryn Burdett, mortgage banker, realtor, and officer for the Multicultural Real Estate Alliance’s Predatory Lending Taskforce, and takes your calls.
