Ahead Of The Twentieth Anniversary of 9/11: What Do The Events And Their Aftermath Mean To You?
In the two decades since terrorists hijacked four planes and killed nearly three thousand people, September 11th 2001 has come to be seen as a seminal, generation-defining event.
The attacks on that day were later used to justify the war on terror and gave rise to decades of American combat in Afghanistan and Iraq; spurred hate crimes against Muslims, Arabs and Sikhs; and is so universally recognized that the simple question: “do you remember 9/11?” is often used to divide one generation of Americans from another. It also continues to be a day of intense trauma for families of the victims, who are still mourning their losses twenty years later.
September 11th and its aftermath means something to so many people. The losses of the day were both tangible and symbolic, and we still feel the repercussions. Today on AirTalk, we are reflecting on what the significance of 9/11 is to you. Give us a call at 866-893-5722.
