Female Impersonators of Male Rock Stars - an Off-Ramp Special Report

About the Show

Over 11 years and 570 episodes, John Rabe and Team Off-Ramp scoured SoCal for the people, places, and ideas whose stories needed to be told, and the show became a love-letter to Los Angeles. Now, John is sharing selections from the Off-Ramp vault to help you explore this imperfect paradise.

Female Impersonators of Male Rock Stars - an Off-Ramp Special Report
Elvis impersonators and Beatles tribute acts are just fine, if you walk into the room and close your eyes, you'll probably have a hard time telling the difference. There's plenty of them in Vegas. But here in LA, there's a different scene altogether: many female musicians here make a living performing music from some of the most famous male rock artists in history. Parents beware, this music can get pretty loud and the language... a little abrasive. Off-Ramp music correspondent Kevin Ferguson has more.
