Paul says:
I was born in Hollywood, grew up in the Westside and the Valley, and have long resided in the Eastside. Despite my deep knowledge of every corner of Los Angeles, I am constantly uncovering new treasures while perpetually asking (with apologies to David Byrne), “Well, how did we get here?”
I attempt to answer that eternal question by staying curious, hitting the pavement, and going down archival rabbit holes. I share my exploration of L.A. as @LA_Dorkout on social media. Join me on my quest to break down the vast metropolis of Greater L.A. into easy walks that shed light on its myriad communities and how they came to be. I’ll bring the roadmap, you bring your feet!

LAist City Treks is all about exploring LA and SoCal on foot. Over the next 10 weeks, we're venturing into new neighborhoods and communities — feeding our Fitbits and Apple Watches while we get to know places that we normally only see though a car window as we drive on by.
