A fixture in North Hollywood since the 1920s, Phil's Diner finally has a new home, and is closer to getting its new lease on life. Yesterday, a crane lifted the 25,000 pound pink and brown restaurant and put it into place at 5230 Lankershim Boulevard, where it will ultimately be reopened as part of the transit-oriented development that is being built there by J.H. Snyder Company, who contributed almost a half-million dollars towards the cost of the Phil's Diner project.

Authorities in North Long Beach are investigating the murder of a teenage boy who was shot and killed inside his home, according to the Press-Telegram. Neighbors report hearing multiple rounds fired on the 1600 block of East 53rd Street at around 9 p.m. last night. The shooter or shooters were outside, and the boy was inside, when the shots were fired.
