A 21-year-old man was shot in the head and left on the side of the road yesterday afternoon in a desert area near Lake Los Angeles after an alleged carjacking, reports City News Service. The man was found by a cyclist who lives in the area, reports KTLA.

A cannon went off in a mobile home near the Mexico border in San Diego County, killing the 33-year-old wife of the man who allegedly fired it. CBS News reports that the incident took place at about 12:15 this morning at the 25000 block of Potrero Valley Road.
