An 80-year-old man shot his wife inside their home in Lake Forest this morning before turning the gun on himself. The 68-year-old woman called sheriff's dispatchers around 8:30 am to let them know her husband was armed and distraught and that she feared for her safety.

Bee Gees member Robin Gibb, 62, passed away today after a long battle with cancer, according a representative for his family.

A metro bus driver was fatally shot by a passenger in West Hollywood this morning, according to the sheriff's department. It happened around 9 am this morning near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and West Knoll Drive.
