A man is facing terror charges after he threatened the driver of a Metro bus last night with a backpack rigged with exposed wires to look like a bomb. Eugenio Paredes, 62, was arrested last night around 6 p.m. on suspicion of making terrorist threats and possessing a hoax explosive device.

If you plan on drinking at restaurants in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, now would be a bad time to forget your ID. Restaurants there are probably going to be especially wary, after police cited four restaurants for serving liquor to young'uns during an alcohol sting last week.

The hunt for a parolee who let his ankle bracelet go uncharged for three days ended today, when a detective found him sipping coffee on a bench at the mall. Detective Peter Rasic from the El Monte Police Department heard that parolee Manuel Rodriguez, who has twice been arrested for exposing himself at the park, was on the lam this morning, after the East Los Angeles Sheriff's Bureau sent out an alert.

Beverly Hills is trying to become more bike-friendly. The city is working on a plan to create a bike route through the city. To start, the city's bicycle committee is planning improvements to Crescent and Beverly drives and Carmelita Avenue and Charleville Boulevard that will make those north-south and east-west thoroughfares more hospitable to bikers, Beverly Hills Patch reports.
