Sunset Boulevard reopens in West Hollywood after weeklong water main repairs

A portion of Sunset Boulevard reopened overnight after LADWP crews finished repairing a water main break in West Hollywood that shut down the area for more than a week.
The water trunk line broke on Thursday, flooding streets and opening a sinkhole on Sunset Boulevard.
While the street is reopened again, LADWP says crews will need to return in the coming weeks to complete permanent paving and other work.
The agency also said they’re accelerating the installation of a new trunk line to replace the 110-year-old pipe. The infrastructure project, which was originally scheduled to begin installation in 2031, is currently “60% designed” and will take approximately four years to complete.
