MSNBC has announced it will no longer simulcast Don Imus' radio show. The cable TV network has had a strong following for the morning program. But Imus' use of a racial slur on last week's show, while discussing the Rutgers University women's basketball team, brought heavy and persistent criticism.

Earlier today, several major advertisers announced that they are pulling their ads from Don Imus' show. Among them were General Motors, GlaxoSmithKline and Procter & Gamble.

Imus has continued to apologize for his comments about the team. This morning, Imus told listeners he will meet personally with the Rutgers players. He said he wants them to understand who he is, and that his comments were made in a mistaken attempt at humor. There has been a growing call for CBS Radio to fire Imus.
