Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.
After traveling to scores of countries and six continents, the Harlem Globetrotters are leaving the globe - in a manner of speaking. The team's iconic red, white, and blue basketball will make the journey into space. The shuttle Atlantis will carry a Harlem Globetrotters basketball when it takes off today on a mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. After coming back to earth, the globe-circling ball will go on display at a Basketball Hall of Fame. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
