Absolut Vodka's Mexico Campaign On the Rocks

Businesses often tailor ads to local markets. But a Swedish vodka maker crossed the line with a new campaign in Mexico — at least according to some U.S. citizens.
Absolut's new campaign featured a billboard map of Mexico — that includes California, Arizona and other U.S. states.
Those states were part of Mexico until 1848.
Mexicans didn't seem to mind the ad. Some Americans were furious.
One blogger wrote, "I've poured the remainder of my Absolut bottles down the sink."
The company has withdrawn the ads.
