Why do heat waves cause power outages?
Blackouts can happen for different reasons. Sometimes there's not enough electricity being generated, and demand outstrips supply. But that's not what happened during this weekend's heat wave.
One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere.
