West Hollywood Officials Join #StopTheBans Protests After Denouncing Anti-Abortion Laws
As #StoptheBans protests supporting reproductive health took place across the country, West Hollywood officials went a step further and voted to condemn anti-abortion legislation in states like Alabama and Georgia.
West Hollywood is known for its progressive actions — officials there were the first in Southern California to declare it a sanctuary city for immigrants.
And they’ve just added another first. Officials say it was the first city in the nation to pass a resolution suspending business travel to states with restrictive abortion laws. They’ll also implement financial sanctions against businesses based in those states.
